New Yorker from Bukidnon: Caution, vigilance on 9/11 10th anniversary

MALAYBALAY CITY – (13 September 2011) There was caution and vigilance around New York City on the day the world marked the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, former Bukidnon State University vice president Edmundo Lungay, said in his email update to Bukidnon News.

Lungay, now based in New York City, said there was “double alert” in the city, better known as the “Big Apple.”

“Officials like NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg are not leaving things to chances,” Lungay quoted in his update on the day of the anniversary, 10 years after terrorists attacked the United States.

Close to 3,000 died in the September 11 attacks, a series of four coordinated suicide attacks upon the United States in New York City and the Washington, D.C., area on September 11, 2001. Continue reading
