‘Sendong’ causes storm signal no. 2 warning in Bukidnon, rest of Mindanao – Pagasa

MALAYBALAY CITY  (Bukidnon News/16 December) Bukidnon and the rest of Mindanao will have rains and gusty clouds to stormy weather as tropical storm ‘Sendong’ made a land fall in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur today, December 16, 2011.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued storm warning signal no. 2 in the province and the rest of Mindanao.

The Pagasa forecast as of 5p.m. showed that Northeastern Mindanao, where Surigao del Sur is, will experience stormy weather while the rest of Mindanao, Southern Visayas and Palawan will have rains with gusty winds.

The rest of Visayas, the report obtained from the weather bureau’s website showed, will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Extreme Northern Luzon will be mostly cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.  The report added that the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Anianita Fortich, chief of the Pagasa Malaybalay weather station, said the condition will prevail up to Sunday evening. She added that the storm is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Monday morning.

The Pagasa 24-hour forecast is valid until 5pm. Saturday, according to its website. (Bukidnon News)
