2 Manolo Fortich boxers advance to national tournament

MANOLO FORTICH, Bukidnon (Bukidnon News/09 February)After gaining a
silver and a bronze medal in the Mindanao-wide PLDT-Amateur Boxing
Association of the Philippines (ABAP)in Panabo City in December, two
members of the Manolo Fortich Municipal Boxing Team are advancing to
the tournament’s national rounds.

Rienbrand Jaingga, 17, an out of school youth from
Barangay Lindaban bagged a silver medal and 12-year old Lauren Oras, a
Grade 6 pupil from Barangay Sankanan won a bronze earning for the team
the 7th place in the regional competition.

Amateur boxers from Manolo Fortich competed with those from General
Santos City, Surigao, South Cotabato, Gingoog City, Sarangani
province, Camiguin, Kidapawan (North Cotabato), Calinan in Davao City,
Aglayan in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, and Compostela Valley.

The national competition will be held in Tagbilaran City, Bohol on
March 3 to 8, 2012, according to Danny Ocday, a national judge and
referee, who is the team’s overseer.

He added that the event is supposed to be held in Palawan this month
but ABAP changed it.

Meanwhile, boxers from Balingasag, Misamis Oriental; Libona; and
Manolo Fortich will clash on February 10 in the Phillips Association
of Puroks (PAPs)’s invitational boxing tournament in Camp Phillips,
