Gov forbids Capitol job referrals

MALAYBALAY CITY (Bukidnon News Dispatch/10 September) – “Leave it to me.”

Gov. Alex P. Calingasan told chiefs of offices in the provincial
government about this recently. He asked them in the September
convocation program of the Capitol Monday to stop referring job
applicants or those seeking promotion.
The governor said a number of applicants come to see him every day but
there is no vacancy at the Capitol. He cited that the ordeal is
stressful, especially because it’s difficult to turn down applicants
seeking an audience with him.

Calingasan admitted that job seekers always have backers, mostly
politicians to land on a job. But he said he should be given space and
time to decide.

He clarified that the provincial government is already too overstaffed.

Calingasan announced that the provincial government has opened its
search for outstanding employees. The winner may get a free ticket to
Hongkong, he added. (Sean Sulugan)
