Maramag senior citizens elect new officers

MARAMAG, Bukidnon – Former North Poblacion barangay chair Letecia G. Paulican was elected as the new president of Senior Citizen Affairs Officer (OSCA) of Maramag by the Maramag Federation of Senior Citizen’s Association.
Paulican said she can use her experience serving the barangay for nine years in her new responsibility.

She committed to help implement the 20 percent discounts of senior citizen, give services for mortuary
to those members registered in their respective barangays and encourage those who have not yet registered.

She said the senior citizen discounts-assistance include medicine, hospitalization, on transportation
on air and land and the (5) five percent on lights consumption as to R.A.9994,
should be well implemented.

She cited that Mayor Alicia Resus gave P400 cash gifts to senior citizens who are 70 years old
and above.
The Maramag Federation of Senior Citizen has urged senior citizens
who have not yet filed their membership to visit their office and register. She announced that the Department of Social Welfare and Development will also start giving P500 per month to at least 80 year-old senior citizens. (Mel G.Molejon)
